What I will learn?
- Aging is associated with loss of muscle, strength, and power, which can result in falls.
- These articles will look at current research associated with resistance training and weight loss in older adults and equip you with evidenced-based effective exercises to be used for fall prevention and reducing the severity of falls. You will learn to look for common risk factors for falling in an assessment and how to address these findings in an exercise program.
- You will learn about the role exercise and nutrition in the pre-operative and post-operative periods of surgery, and the factors that influence recovery time and prognosis after major surgeries as well as recommended guidelines and protocols to most effectively incorporate nutrition and exercise regimens into patient management plans leading up to surgery.
