This course outlines the core ethical values and responsibilities that guide healthcare practitioners, and serves as reminder ethical principles that are the benchmark for professional conduct, that apply to all healthcare practitioners. Part 1 reviews essential topics such as patient-centred care, informed consent, confidentiality, and the basics of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), as outlined by the HPCSA guidelines. Part 2 looks into professional and business ethics, as well as some other general ethical factors for healthcare practitioners to reflect on.
